Chairman of the Board, IAA UAE
Abdulqader Obaid Ali is a distinguished business leader and governance expert, recognized for his influential roles across key public and private sector organizations in the UAE. He serves as Chairman of the Board at the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE IAA) and as the Global Chief Executive Officer of Manav Energy.
Mr. Ali also holds several prominent board positions, including Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee at Dubai Financial Market and Majid Al Futtaim, Independent Vice Chairman of the Audit Committee at the Federal Tax Authority, and Independent Board Member of the Audit Committee at Al Masraf Bank.
Being the Chairman of the UAE IAA for more than a decade, he led the Arabization of the “Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)” program, “Sawyer's Guide to Internal Auditing,” and “COSO,” and successfully organized the annual Chief Audit Executive Conferences under his leadership. IIA Global recently acknowledge his contribution by awarding him the 2025 Global Leadership Award.
He has managed more than 500 fraud cases as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), collaborating with agencies such as Interpol and handling high-profile cases in the USA. He holds the CFE designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (USA) and the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from the IIA. He is the founder of Ideas Arabia and an assessor for Ideas America. His accolades include the Kano Medal Excellence Catalyst Award (2011) and the Ideas UK Fellowship Award (2012). Additionally, he holds the Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL).
As the Global CEO of Manav Energy, he ventures into sustainability, championing the future of renewable energy. His efforts emphasize harnessing solar energy and advancing its conversion into renewable hydrogen, reflecting his commitment to pioneering sustainable initiatives. He is also serving as a Board Member for the Engineering at Dubai University.
