Abdullah Alrowais is a distinguished leader in corporate governance, internal audit, and risk management, with over 30 years of extensive experience spanning IT and assurance disciplines. He is recognized for his ability to build and transform governance frameworks that enhance transparency, accountability, and sustainable performance across both public and private sector institutions.
Mr. Alrowais served as the Chief Audit Executive at Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) from 2007 until January 2024, where he led the transformation of the company’s internal audit function, aligning them with leading international practices. Prior to that, he began his career at the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), gaining deep experience in regulatory oversight, followed by a distinguished tenure at Saudi Aramco, where he advanced to become Acting Assistant General Auditor and managed the IT Audit Department for nearly five years.
Beyond his executive roles, Mr. Alrowais has been an active board member and audit committee chair for numerous public, private, and charitable organizations in Saudi Arabia. He is also a founding board member of the Saudi Association of Internal Auditors, where he chaired the Executive Committee.
A frequent keynote speaker at regional and international conferences, Mr. Alrowais is widely respected for his thought leadership in corporate governance, audit transformation, risk oversight, and fraud prevention.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from King Saud University, a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Information Systems from the United States, and has completed executive leadership programs from INSEAD, IMD, and the London Business School.
